About
Welcome to arteitalica.it, where ancient Italian prehistory meets modern craftsmanship.
I’m Colleen Corradi Brannigan, the creator behind this project. My journey began with a fascination for Italy’s prehistoric past, specifically the ancient Italic cultures that thrived long before modern civilizations. I’ve always been drawn to their stories, their ways of life, and especially their art—particularly their pottery. These early peoples left behind handbuilt vessels that carry the echoes of their lives, and that connection across time captivated me.
As an artist with a deep love for pottery, I started to experiment with handbuilding my own vessels, inspired by the forms and techniques of these ancient Italic cultures. My work combines historical traditions with my own artistic expression, blending the ancient with the modern. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, ensuring that no two are exactly alike, just as in ancient times.
At arteitalica.it, I strive to honour the artistry of the past while breathing new life into it. My goal is to create vessels that are not just functional objects, but pieces that tell a story—a story that spans thousands of years, from Italy's prehistory to today.
Thank you for visiting and for sharing in this journey with me. I invite you to explore my collection and find the piece that resonates with your own connection to history and art.
